Saturday sewing project

So, I bought this little black dress a while ago; it was a great deal and is very flattering to my figure, however it was a bit too short.

When I got home the first thing I did was let out the two inch hem, which worked fine except for when I was sitting, in which case I either had to be very careful about how I moved or wear leggings. Needless to say I've only ever worn it with leggings and boots. But it's summer here and I decided it was time to make it more than just a winter dress, so thanks to some advice from a friend, I went to SAS fabrics, bought 30 cents worth of wide black lace from the remnant bin and added an additional 2-3 inches to the bottom. Then to tie it in to the whole look of the garment, put on the sleeve trim too.

Not bad for a Saturday afternoon sewing project I'd say ;)
