For any of you american idol fans out there, you might remember Brooke White. She was a finalist on last year's show and is a native of Mesa. Well, last night she gave a free coming home concert at the Mesa Ampitheatre, that I went to with some friends. It wasn't the best concert, the opening act wasn't great, and the MC was kind of creepy, then Brooke's voice was really raspy and she only ended up playing 5 short songs, but for a free concert it was still fun and the warm arizona nights made it all the nicer. (All you idahoans can begin to feel jealous of us about this time of year).
Truth be told however, the take home element of the night that I took home with me is just how simple, fragile, complex, and ambiguous friendships can be, yet it's sometimes the unpredictability of others that keeps it exciting. Anyways, there's no real story attached to that thought, just some interesting observations.
